workout details:For the time of year, I felt relatively strong. There were a couple places I held sustained 25-27mph for 1/4 mile to make some lights. Not bad for February without much riding since September. I did have the falling light to motivate me to pedal faster and I ended up rolling into my house just as I got concerned about not being able to see things on the road.

workout details:Ran out with snow flurries coming down, I always love that.

I have been gaining weight lately and not feeling very fit. I cannot imagine why... certainly doing that whole launch thing was hard. And also travel is never good. But the primary fact I think is that I am just not working out enough. I have even been watching my food intake pretty closely lately but the weight isn't going anywhere. So checking out the totals, leaving out the few weeks for skiing, I have been essentially averaging 3+ hours per week. And that just isn't a lot and certainly doesn't make for a training program. I'll work up a decent program to a moderate event during this week and post here, everyone can then join me in tracking that progress to see if I can get the weight down and my fitness back up.

Feels very French to be barked at in French by a Roy Orbison look-alike to ballet music. I may be a decent runner and okay athlete, but I am so NOT flexible. I felt like Mr. Bean: turned the wrong way, couldn't grab my foot, etc. GREAT workout. Hard to lift my leg to cross over the other when sitting the next day.

Fashion Week in Paris, so lots of interesting people watching. Had an odd guy really stare at my feet. Maybe I'd understand if I had been in my 5 fingers, but just my regular running shoes. Maybe he isn't used to seeing mud-spattered sneakers. I love running in Paris and seeing the sights, but today definitely was my first and last day running for any distance along rue Rivoli (N side of Louvre). Tons of traffic and horrible air.

My lower calves are both really, really sore (my boss saw me hobbling down the hallway and asked if I was ok). Time to back off the barefoot running a little, I think.
