British Airways and Poor Customer Service

I fly a lot. I fly long-haul from Europe to the United States at least 8 times each year, often more. For an airline that is nice money. And when I fly I tend to fly British Airways. Why? It’s a little longer and I need to transfer through Heathrow but overall the level of

Chateau d’Esclimont

For our anniversary this year we cycled 80 km from Paris to this lovely chateau. This is a place I have never heard mentioned before. I think for non-locals it’s just far enough away that a trip to Paris wouldn’t justify the time in a car. For locals perhaps it’s too close, if you have

Cassis

Couple of photos from a trip to Cassis. I had to work and so couldn’t make it but the family looks like they had fun. Best part had to be K playing his guitar along the seawall.

Off to Normandie

Small delay getting out the door today. We’re off to explore the beaches of Normandy with Bill & Sharon. Should be perfect weather: cold and rainy! Just like a family from Seattle usually holidays:-)

Foosball

One of the best things about Piegaro… Playing foosball. Because there isn’t much to do and that’s the way we like it.

Burgenstock

We drove to Burgenstock* yesterday which is near Luzern. This is a lovely day-trip from Zurich. Burgenstock itself is a glamour resort (apparently). It opens in late March so everything was closed when we got there. I suspect in the real season very wealthy stroll about and enjoy the views which are spectacular. The image

Gosh I love British Airways

This is overall a marginal rant. Overall my flight was fine, the staff at BA was good, etc etc. But flying home yesterday… The flight from Seattle to London went without a hitch. We landed and then the problems started. I ostensibly had 50 minutes from the time my flight landed to catch my connecting

SAS Advent Calendar Day 5: The End of Childhood

I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth. I really do. On top of the fact that I don’t really like horses to begin with it always seems rude. Just take the damn gift horse and walk or trot or canter or whatever on your merry way and then later re-gift it and

SAS Advent Calendar Day 3: The Scandal Grows

Others have noticed. In years past each morning we would look forward each morning to learning about a new city. Throughout the day we would talk about whether we wanted to go to the city or whether a given city was close enough to a final desired destination. C’mon SAS, bring back the calendar! Oh

SAS Advent Calendar Day 1: No Advent Calendar?

I got up this morning, fixed an espresso, and hopped online to check the SAS advent calendar. I love the SAS advent calendar. In 2002 it provided the cheap ticket to fly from Seattle to Milan. We drove from Milan to Courmayeur and skied all week. Last year I blogged about the advent calendar. I
