I know nothing first-hand about the customs in Switzerland. My information at this point largely comes from a single book Living and Working in Switzerland.

• According to this book working is against the law (or at least custom) so people won’t wash cars, do laundry, etc. It’s a day for what I don’t know… maybe Alpen-hiking? Sure like to find out. I like the idea of shops being closed one day a week and people just out enjoying life.
